Infographic Session Update

Infographics are a great way to share science with a wide array of stakeholders- join our session of infographic and lightning talks (Tuesday 15th December 2020 at 14:00 GMT) to practice showcasing what you do! One savvy student presenter will receive the 2020 Vaughn Bryant Award for the Best Student Poster, sponsored by AASP- The Palynology Society. This award comes with a certificate, cash prize, and two years’ membership in AASP-TPS with free online access to Palynology!

Example infographic made in Mind the Graph.

Never made an infographic? Now’s the time to learn! They’re a great way to

· Communicate your science to a diverse audience

· Develop skills which can be used in any discipline

· Covey your message quickly

· Gain experience for journals which require a graphic abstract

· Learn how to use graphic software

· Have fun creating an attractive figure

How will this session work?

Your infographic will be showcased in two ways: 1) during the lightning talk session where you will have around 2 minutes to describe your infographic on one slide (PowerPoint or other) via Zoom share screen; and 2) as a blog post on this website. Each blog post will include the infographic and a caption. They may also include a *short* description (infographics should speak for themselves as a stand-alone piece, rather than needing a lengthy description).
